5 things to do in the first 15 min every morning

How you start your day impacts the day you live through. Why not spend just the first 15 min of your day, right at the start, to tune in your mind into what it needs the most. After all, just like the body, the mind also needs good food & energy to consume.

Very little preparation is needed in the night to have a fantastic start of the next day. Suppose your best friend was coming to your city the next morning, and you had to wake up to go and pick him up. How much energy would you feel in the morning? That best friend is the new version of yourself who is coming the next morning, so need to prepare a little beforehand.

The preparation includes selecting a book that you can read when you get up in the morning. You need a notebook or a diary where you can write a couple of sentences. A comfortable pen or pencil to write. And you are all set for a great start.

Ask yourself the best question of the day

The day I achieve my dream life, how would I feel when I open up my eyes in the morning the very next day?”, ask yourself. That dream life could be any emotionally important dream such as marriage, a child, a million dollars cash, an award, a recognition, a house, a car, a trip, or anything else. Just imitate that feeling. If it feels fake, let it be, but feel it for just 30 seconds.

Knowing how it feels when you reach there, takes you there faster.

Affirm your new beliefs about yourself & your life

We grow up with several beliefs about us — some are self benefiting, some are self-defeating. So there is a constant need to rewire our minds, reaffirm our beliefs, and relearn new self winning attitude. Affirmations are the best way to retrain the brain. All it needs is one step at a time. Select just 3 affirmations, and repeat each of them 3 times. When you say I am feeling happy, feel the happiness in your words. When you say I am wealthy, feel the comfort & time that would come along wealth.

When you keep telling your mind how you feel, the mind also starts feeling the same.

Visualize your next big dream

What do I want to achieve next in my life?”, ask yourself. Define it with details. I am dreaming of my success in my business, which means I am making X amt of money, I have Y number of customers & Z number of employees, I am advertising on TV & the Internet, I am speaking to a large crowd, I am conducting seminars for growth of others, and so on. How would you walk, & talk, & look, & smile when you have achieved the dream. See yourself enjoying the happiness of achieving your goal.

Success comes one step at a time. Visualize yourself at each step as you move towards success.

Recollect the 3 learnings you read the previous day

As we move forward, we must also be aware of our past and always ready to apply its learnings. Remembering it is the first step towards acting upon it. Whatever you read or learn, would start getting washed off your mind within 15 min. To recollect those learning a day later freezes those learning in the mind. It helps us reflect on our own improvements a little longer, and that brings about the change from within. Write the 3 learnings in a notebook for your reference in the future.

Recollect your daily learnings. They shape up your positive experience & expertise.

Read 3 sentences and think about it for a minute

Keep a book by your side, and just read 3 good sentences from the book. Keep reading unless you reach a target of 3 learnings, or 3 ideas, or 3 concepts, or 3 tricks. Whatever it is, it should resonate with your thinking and it must be at least 3. Then read the 3 sentences once more and think about it. Repeat the same the next day, and it becomes part of your life. It also helps in boosting your short-term memory.

Reading is like collecting pearls in the vast ocean. Each learning adds upon your thought process.
